Conference Overview

The 2019 Agents & Editors Conference marks our 26th conference, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome more than 400 attendees, authors, and publishing professionals to Austin for three days of one of the best conference experiences available to writers.

  • Check-in: Begins at 11 a.m.
  • Genre Sessions: Tips, strategies, resources, and trends.
  • The Pitch Lab: Meet your fellow attendees by trying out your pitch on them and giving and receiving positive, helpful feedback.
  • Welcome Reception: Drinks, snacks, and casual conversation with writers, agents, and editors.


  • Opening discussion with an industry insider from a major publishing imprint.
  • Panels and Presentations featuring nearly 100 published writers, agents, editors, publicists, booksellers, and other publishing professionals.
  • Luncheon with a keynote speaker, with complimentary copy of book. (Not included in the registration price. Keynote Luncheon tickets will be available for purchase starting in May.)
  • Evening event with keynote speaker, with complimentary copy of the speaker's book.
  • One-on-one consultations with agents and editors.


  • Presentations on publishing and writing topics such as revision, fine-tuning opening pages, query letters, novel synopses, nonfiction proposals, author platform and book marketing, and legal issues common to writers.
  • One-on-one consultations with agents and editors.
  • Closing Luncheon.

Registration Rates 

After April 2, 2019, while seats remain

  • $459 Members
  • $519 Nonmembers
  • After April 2, registration does not include a one-on-one consultation with an agent or editor. Consultations will be made available for individual purchase as space allows.

Refund Policy

All cancellations will incur a $50 cancellation fee.

Through January 3, 2019: 100% refund available

January 4 - April 30, 2019: 50% refund available for registration. There are no refunds for consultations.  

After April 30, 2019: No refunds will be made (no exceptions), but registrants can transfer their registration to another person as long as advance notice is given to the Writers' League of Texas. If you wish to transfer your registration, please call the WLT at 512-499-8914.
