This fun, fast-paced workshop is designed to condense the most important lessons of an MFA degree into one comprehensive tutorial. Structured after the MFA model, the class will divide its time between craft lessons, hands-on exercises, and collaborative revision workshops. Whether you write short stories or novels, literary fiction or experimental prose, this close study of the craft of fiction will transform your work-in-progress and develop your life-long skills as a writer.

In this intensive one-day workshop, you will find:

* Techniques to master the fundamentals of fiction, including: voice, character, dialogue, description, point-of-view, and plot
* Exercises that stretch your writing and push the boundaries of your style
* Feedback in a supportive and no-pressure environment
* Techniques for reading like a writer
* Cultivation of good writing habits

Who should attend:

* First-timers and long-timers looking to hone their craft
* Writers who are curious about what an MFA in Creative Writing has to offer
* Anyone who is serious about writing as both an art and a craft
