Learn the best practices for launching new books in the radically changing self-publishing climate.

The best methods for releasing a self-published book change radically every year. Whether you are working on your very first book or are about to launch your latest title, in this class we will review:

~ Pre-launch considerations of tailoring your book to a specific market, use of the various types of editors, pre-marketing, release timelines, your book budget, and social media preparedness.
~ Production matters of formatting your ebook and paperback, whether to attempt simultaneous audiobooks, and decisions about releasing widely or exclusive to Amazon.
~ A release strategy that gives your book the best possible start, including metadata, keyword research, category choices, and advertising.

TAKE THIS CLASS IF

  • You're working on your first book.
  • You're about to launch your latest self-published book.
  • You're ready to prepare a release strategy for an upcoming book.

HOW WLT CLASSES WORK:

Our classes offer a combination of lecture and practical exercises, determined by the individual instructor, on focused aspects of the craft and business of writing. Your fellow participants will come from a range of writing experience, from beginners to people with MFA degrees and published books. WLT instructors, participants, and administrators all work together to create a welcoming, supportive environment.

If you haven't taken a class with us in recent years, feel free to give us a call at 512-499-8914 if you'd like to discuss whether our programming is the right fit for your needs.
